DELAY : Helps to eliminate small metal objects located at shallow depth and also to cancel mineralization of the ground. The lower the value, the more depth you get. By increasing the value, unwanted objects, such as pieces of aluminum foil, pieces of lead, or other metals, can be rejected, but the depth of the detector can be affected.
TX-BOOST: This control regulates the transmission pulse width. If it is set to a high value, the depth is greater, but the current draw increases. For searches in highly mineralized terrain, it is recommended to decrease the value, to avoid false signals.
FREQ: It means the frequency control, which can range between the values of 95Hz-125Hz. This control helps eliminate electrical interference, if searches are conducted near power lines or other sources of interference. For optimal frequency adjustment, with the help of the GAIN setting , we seek a slight threshold level. If we find that the threshold tone has many variations, we slowly turn the FREQ adjustment control to the right or left until we achieve the clearest possible threshold tone. Level 3 is recommended.
VOLUME: The volume control of the device is used to regulate the intensity of the sound emitted by the speaker. This control does not affect the depth of the device at all.
GAIN: The gain or sensitivity control of the device.
GROUND: With this setting we eliminate the effects of ground mineralization.
RESET: This button is used to reset the detector in the event of misadjustment. It is recommended to press it for 2-3 seconds after modifying any parameter of the detector.
MENU: This control is valid only for the VLF mode, the same as the LCD screen.
POWER: This switch has three positions. In the back position the PI detector is turned on , in the middle position the device is completely off and in the forward position the VLF detector is turned on

START UP IN PI MODE;
Assemble the frame coil as shown in figures 1 and 2.
Connect the coil to the detector through the connector.
Hang the detector around your neck and stand inside the box.
Place the potentiometers in the following positions:
DELAY in position “0”
GROUND in position “10”
TX-BOOST in position “10”
FREQ in position “3”
GAIN in position “10”
VOLUME in position “5”
Place the frame on a clean floor free of metal objects. Turn on the detector with the POWER switch . Place the switch in the rear position. The detector will beep and then press and hold the RESET button for 3 seconds and the detector should go silent. If the detector continues to emit a sound, press the RESET button again , until the detector remains silent. With these settings the detector would be ready to search.
Grip the picture tapes with both hands and begin to walk slowly. If the detector passes over a metallic object, it will emit a sound and the DEPTH bar will light progressively depending on the depth and size of the detected object. The detector has the ability to discriminate small metal objects located on the surface.
If the pitch of the signal rises and falls rapidly in a small area, this means that the object is small and has a depth of up to 50 cm.
When the signal pitch increases in a medium-sized area, and after that it slowly decreases again, this means that a medium-sized object is found at a depth of up to 3 meters, as shown in Fig. 3.
When the signal pitch increases in a large area, and then slowly decreases again, this means that a medium-sized object is found at a depth of up to 8 meters, as shown in Fig. 4.
If the search is carried out in highly mineralized soils, you should set the GROUND potentiometer to position “9” to avoid the effects of mineralization. If the terrain is too mineralized, you can also reduce the effects by increasing the DELAY value and reducing the TX-BOOST and GAIN values .
If you search near power lines, and the detector is affected by interference, with the help of the FREQ control you can minimize these effects.
START UP IN VLF MODE;
Mount the DD coil on the telescopic crutch, through the supplied plastic screw.
Connect the coil with the detector through the connector.
Hang the detector on the neck.
Turn on the detector with the POWER switch in the forward position. The detector screen will turn on and after three seconds it will show the main screen. Press the MENU button , so that the screen shows all the settings. Once inside, select the first SENS option and press the MENU button . A scale of 0-9 will appear. To select the desired level, turn the MENU button to the right or left. When you have chosen the desired level, press the MENU button and the display will show “ OK ”.We repeat this operation with all the settings. When you have finished adjusting all the parameters, press EXIT. All settings are automatically saved and the main screen will appear.
The main screen will show a series of parameters that we will explain step by step.
